Unfortunately most Americans only have a vague concept of Acupuncture and Chinese healing understandings. Acupuncture is a very detailed in-depth awareness and knowledge of the systems within the human body which have been known and practiced for over 3,000 years (120+ generations) in the Chinese culture (older than Western Medicine). The academic curriculum in the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine is highly regarded and offers advanced degrees. This healing art is a significant contrast to the drug and surgical practices utilized by our Western systems. Many Americans are now looking to Acupuncture as a practical approach to address health concerns avoiding the more invasive and drug solutions of Western approaches. The modern practice of acupuncture forms a part of a rational, personalized, evidence-based system of effective healthcare.
In addition to being used by practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine often titled as “Licensed or Certified Acupuncturists”, acupuncture is practiced by some Western medical doctors, veterinarians, chiropractors, and other healthcare professionals to treat people and animals with a wide variety of symptoms and conditions. Acupuncture is used to ease suffering and restore the health and well-being of their patients.
Parago Jones has been the Academic Dean of the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Denver since 2019. Prior to that he was the school’s Clinical Director from 2007 to 2019.He graduated from CSTCM in 1998, is a nationally certified Diplomate through NCCAOM and a licensed acupuncturist in Colorado. Since graduation, he has gone on to specialize in the neo-classical Japanese Meridian Therapy, moxibustion. He teaches, supervises, and is a member of the Academic Leadership Team in addition to practicing acupuncture. Join us to discover a more accurate understanding of this powerful healing art form.
